DESCRIPTION:with ‘Mr Wickham’ and Regency Regjigged \nJoin ‘Mr Wickham’ and the Regency Rejigged dancers for a celebration of all things Austen\, marking 200 years since the author’s death in 1817. \nDashing actor Adrian Lukis\, who played the villainous army officer Mr Wickham in the 1995 television adaptation of Pride and Prejudice (the one with Colin Firth as Darcy and ‘that’ scene with the wet shirt) will chat about his experiences and career with Huddersfield’s Jane Austen expert\, Catherine Curzon. Followed by a display of dances from Jane Austen’s era by Regency Rejigged. Audience members are welcome to come in period dress. \nRefreshments and cake will be on sale to raise funds for the Friends of Marsden Library.

DESCRIPTION:March is wellbeing month in Kirklees Libraries and to celebrate this they are promoting the Reading Agency’s fabulous collection of Shelf Help books within our libraries and as ebooks on Overdrive.  The collection of 35 fiction and non-fiction books is aimed at young people who may be experiencing a variety of wellbeing or mental health issues from low mood to eating disorders. So if you are a teacher\, a parent or are just interested in helping a young person in your life overcome a difficult time then please enquire at the library for more information.
