What do we do with the funds raised?
We’re here to support, and promote the Library. It’s an essential resource for Marsden, a lifeline for some, a free space that can be used by anybody, whoever they are.
We use the funds we raise with the calendar to provide events and activities that encourage people to come to the Library, and that enrich our community.
We also support the Marsden Community Trust by contributing to the maintenance costs of the Library. You might not realise that although the Kirklees Library Service provides the books, IT, staff etc for the Library they don’t pay any rent for the space, so this is a really valuable way of supporting the Mechanics and securing it for Marsdeners now and in the future.
