We’ve had a great spring and summer of author events in Marsden Library, thanks to the Cuckoo’s Nest for the support.!
We celebrated International Women’s Day in March with Ali Ronan and Cyril Pearce and a great talk about their historical research into women resisters during the First World War. At the end of April, our partnership with Huddersfield Literature Festival brought us Nature Writer Amy Jane Beer. In May we welcomed graphic artist Polyp back, exploring his methods and discussing radical politics along the way. And just last week we had the delights of an evening with Amanda Huggins, reading from her latest short fiction collection Each of Us a Petal.
We’ll be back in the Autumn, Brian Groom is coming back in November and (whisper it) we might just be able to bring you a well-known local poet in the Spring, part of our campaign to keep our Library open and part of statutory library provision. Watch this space!
