We’re looking forward to welcoming you to our first ‘Local Writers Reading’ event, and we’re kicking off with a smasher!

Local author Dave Rigby will be reading and signing copies of Darkstone, set in a not too distant, dystopian but recognisable future:

The Future May Be Closer Than You Think …

Ellis Landsman, a forester living in the Scottish Outlands in the 2020s is shocked to find a wolf in his forest uncovering the body of a young woman.

He rescues the body and makes the long snow-covered journey to Glasgow to report the death and hand the body over to the Brigade, the semi-militaristic security force that has replaced the police.

But Ellis doesn’t trust the Brigade to investigate the death and decides to try and find out for himself who the woman is, how she died and how she came to be buried on his land.

But all is not as it seems as Ellis struggles to track down the young woman’s killer …

The event starts at 8pm in the Library on Wednesday 13th April.  Entrance is £5 on the door, including refreshments, with all proceeds going towards the Library Refurbishment.
