It was a tough job, but someone had to do it. On a wet Saturday in August three hardy members of the Marsden community gathered to judge this year’s Calendar Competition.
There was blood, there was sweat, there were a few tears, but in the end difficult decisions were made, and the winners chosen.
The judges aimed for a cross-section of images that represented the seasons of the year, featured people as well as landscapes, and captured the spirit of our community in Marsden and the Colne Valley.
There will be an exhibition of the winning images in Enjoy Art from 30 September. The exhibition will move to Marsden Mechanics during the Jazz Festival (7-9 October) before retuning to Enjoy Art.
Free Entry.
The Marsden Calendar has been produced by Friends of Marsden Library and will be sold in aid of the Library Redesign. To find out more about how the Library Service is changing, and the fundraising campaign visit

Great news that calendar is back and funds raised will be used for such a worthy cause. Can’t wait to see the winning pictures. A lovely way to celebrate Marsden and all our talented photographers.
